Description
We are busy, patient-centered gastroenterology practice office seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Front Office Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Answer and return patient phone calls on a busy multi-line phone system with care and professionalism
- Performing data entry and documentation in our Electronic Health Record (EPIC)
- Scanning, faxing and organizing medical documents
- Checking in patients and verifying insurance and demographics information
- Processing patient payment and co-pays
- Incoming and outgoing referral coordination
- Performing related administrative duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a medical office setting (gastroenterology or specialty care preferred)
Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes
Proficiency in EPIC or similar EHR systems
Strong organizational and communication skills
Friendly, professional demeanor and commitment to patient service
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

Pay Scale/Ranges:
$21.00-$35.50/hour (and the hourly equivalent for salaried employees).*
