In this role, you will be a key member of our OEM Coatings Technical team, you will oversee various projects while ensuring on-time development and the launch of various colors and products which meet customer requirements.
As a Chemist, You Create Chemistry By...
- Supporting Manufacturing sites and Account Team colleagues at different customer sites.
- Providing technical guidance for projects and help training team members.
- Demonstrating your varied skills, including maintaining, contributing to, and leading EHS and 6S standards and continuous improvement.
- Overseeing Technical launch activities with a focus on new color developments. Being responsible for the project timeline, working through each stage of a Launch.
- Supporting activities such as formulating paint based on established guidelines in collaboration with colleagues in the Coatings group, working in a lab to make paint samples, evaluate the samples for performance, and identifying the necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Developing application methods to reproduce customer problems or predict potential issues, designing experiments to correct the problem, documenting root cause and corrective actions, and leading implementation activities.
- Representing BASF as a Technical launch lead to both internal and external customers.
- Providing assistance remotely or traveling to BASF manufacturing sites and external customer sites to review product performance.
If you...
- Are able to lead multiple tasks simultaneously in alignment with group priorities and targets.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other technical discipline with at least 3 years of experience in the automotive, OEM or refinish coatings industry.
- Possess excellent organizational skills with an ability to manage priorities and multi-task
- Have proven LEAN and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
