We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to support the maintenance, installation, and optimization of control systems and electrical infrastructure in a chemical manufacturing environment.
This position is part of a job family with multiple levels and will be filled at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
During your shift as a I&E Technician, you will
- Perform timely repairs and installations of instruments, controls, and electrical systems using technical documentation to ensure safe and reliable operations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to systems, tools, and methods to enhance reliability, accuracy, safety, and repair efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system changes and ensure all site records are current; uphold high housekeeping standards in all work areas.
- Operate forklifts and manlifts safely; respond flexibly to call-ins and overtime, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Apply expertise in chemical process instrumentation (level, flow, pressure, temperature, analysis), PLC systems, and electrical distribution (motors, MCCs, transformers, lighting, wiring).
- Adhere to industrial safety regulations and practices (LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Line Break); demonstrate strong leadership, multitasking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Perform general labor tasks, including lifting at least 50 lbs., and work in various conditions, including elevated and outdoor environments.
If you...
- Hold a High School Diploma or GED and possess 3 years of I/E Maintenance experience or a Two-year technical degree in an I/E Maintenance field.
- Preferrably bring 3 years of PLC experience
- Have experience with calibrating and configuring Instrumentation using HART based communicators.
- Possess knowledge of the NEC code, and understanding of working in electrically classified areas
- Are able to write and revise written job instructions.
- Have working knowledge of MS Office Suite
