Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Basement Burger Bar recipes and standards.
- Operate grill, fryer, sauté, and prep stations efficiently.
- Maintain speed, consistency, and quality during high-volume service.
- Set up, stock, and break down your station before and after each shift.
- Follow portion control and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food is cooked safely and to proper temperatures.
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the shift.
- Practice proper food handling, sanitation, and health department standards.
- Communicate effectively with chefs, managers, and fellow team members.
- Assist with food prep, inventory rotation (FIFO), and receiving deliveries when needed.
- Help maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture.
- Perform opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or line cook experience preferred (we are willing to train the right person).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Food safety knowledge is a plus.
