Accounts Payable Clerk

We're looking for an Accounts Payable professional to join our team!

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for performing accounts payable tasks, including receiving/billing reconciliation, invoice entry, and payment processing. This position also provides additional support to the accounting staff under the direction of the Controller.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Match incoming invoices with packing slips.
• Ensure invoices are accurate and proper accounting procedures are followed prior to payment.
• Enter invoice information into accounting system for payment.
• Print and obtain signatures on accounts payable checks.
• Mail payable checks and supporting documentation to vendors.
• Reconcile incoming syrup entries with documentation (purchase orders, prepayments, etc.).
• Calculate and process payments for syrup purchased from vendors and brokers.
• Coordinate and monitor prepayments for syrup, ensuring proper authorizations are obtained prior to issuing payment.
• Verify all applicable documentation is on file prior to issuing payments.
• Prepare 1099 documents in conjunction with Controller.
• Answer vendor inquiries regarding invoicing and payments.
• File accounts payable records.
• Other tasks as requested.

Minimum Requirements

• Associates degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 1-3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable
• Working knowledge of foreign currency and exchange process
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills-Microsoft Office, typing skills

Essential Functions

Employees in this position must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must be able to interact professionally with vendors, employees, and customers. The Accounts Payable Clerk must be able to multitask and manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

This position is performed primarily in an office setting. The Accounts Payable Clerk must be able to hear well in person and on the phone and speak clearly to communicate with visitors and customers. The employee must be able to type and perform fine motor skill tasks frequently throughout their shift and may perform minimal lifting tasks. This position requires consistent in office attendance.
