POSITION TITLE: Assistive Technology Specialist for the 2026-2027 School Year
POSITION DETAILS: 49%, 190 days
LOCATION: Central Office
START DATE: July 27, 2026
JOB DESCRIPTION: Evaluate student's need for assistive technology. Research, locate, purchase, assemble recommended assistive technology equipment. Prepare written requests for supplies and prepare written assessment reports. Assist and present at IEP meetings if needed. Plans/implements instructional activities for students. Collaborate and guide teachers, support personnel. Maintain and inventory all equipment/materials. Keep up to date on current research and technology. Works collaboratively with other SLP, OT and other assessment personnel.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission teaching certificate.
SKILLS: Ability and knowledge to effectively work as a teacher at any school level. Proficient planning, organizational and communication skills – oral & written. Function as a team worker, work without constant direction, and use time efficiently.
EXPERIENCE: No previous experience required.
