Candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational & communication skills; a strong proficiency in multi-tasking with hospitality sales management experience. The Sheraton La Jolla Hotel is locally owned and managed by Bartell Hotels and has just completed a major, multi-million dollar renovation.The responsibilities of the Sales Manager include but are not limited to:Comprehensive knowledge of market position, banquet and food and beverage revenues, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends, and future hotel planningBe fully knowledgeable of competitive markets outside the areaSolicit and develop new business while maintaining existing relationships will the hotel’s current accountsBe fully knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategiesFollow Sales policies and proceduresMake personal sales callsConduct exceptional site inspections and property tours with potential clientsMaintain professionalism in problem situationsMaintain detailed records of discussions with guest, including all meeting setups, food and beverage, etcUpsell to improve revenue generation and ancillary revenue to include Room Rental, Audio Visual and Banquet Food and BeverageAttend trade shows, industry and local events that create opportunities for networkingDevelop creative marketing techniquesAchieve and exceed team annual goals as established by the Director of SalesMaintain correct procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assetsRespond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely mannerAbility to accurately use various office and sales softwareUnderstand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc., and how to sell against themFollow all additional duties as assigned by the Director of SalesSkills-Possess strong sales and negotiating skills with the ability to close in a positive outcomeKnowledge of CI/TY and Marriott systems to include Lightspeed a plusProficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet Explorer/Google ChromeWell organized and detail orientedAbility to work independentlyDisplay initiative, perseverance and analytical skillsEffective communicationProfessional and ethicalDisplays enthusiasmExcellent customer service skillsTeam player Available to meet and entertain guests Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)Minimum of 3 – 5 years of hotel sales management experience requiredSalary Range: $75K-$82K annually.
