Job Description

Job Title: Hotel Sales Manager

Job Purpose:  Solicit and book potential group clients to achieve hotel room revenue and catering revenue goals.  

Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Initiate new sales, prospects, qualified leads, and solicits potential clients.
  2. Maintain client accounts for repeat business opportunities.
  3. Follow up on leads by qualifying the customer's needs and dates for the event to determine if the business is a good fit for the property.
  4. Negotiate contracts and prepare proposals.  Identify and price customer needs for the event, up selling where possible, and closing the sale with the customer, collecting the customer deposit and signature on hotel contracts.
  5. Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals
  6. Plan and conduct site inspections.
  7. Finalize and detail group meetings and catering events.
  8. Collaborate with operations departments to ensure successful group meeting.
  9. Prospect for new meetings business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, trade shows, attending community functions, blitzes, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, etc.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Skills:

  1. Exhibit computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s).  Use knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, iVvy and All Seats or similar systems.
  2. Exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, listening, and math skills.
  3. Utilize closing skills to meet the room revenue goals.
  4. Use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
  5. Maintain contact and event information and follow procedures for submitting sales contracts.
  6. Read and interpret documents and to write routine reports and correspondence.

 

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business or related field.

Experience

Minimum 1-3 years of Hotel Sales.

Salary Range  $70,304 - $72,000

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. Incentive bonus also offered. 

Licenses/Certifications

Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to drive to appointments.


Physical Demands & Work Environment  

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit/stand;
walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.
The employee may be sometimes exposed to outside weather conditions and the noise level is usually moderate.

Salary : $70,304 - $72,000
