Bartech Staffing is proud to partner with a leader in the Automotive Industry who is accepting applications for an Industrial Engineer. This is a contractual opportunity, fully onsite, in the Dundee, MI area
Hourly Pay Range $37/hr. - $39/hr. (W2)
As an Industrial Engineer (Powertrain) you will optimize production performance across assembly lines. You will own direct/indirect labor analysis, line speed, cycle checks, workstation assignments, change control, and line balancing.
Responsibilities
- Perform time studies (elemental breakdowns, summaries, ratings) and provide time valuations for work content.
- Conduct 3M Analysis:
- Create detailed analysis and charts for assembly stations (ongoing).
- Validate Golden Zone part placement and summarize improvements.
- Optimize part presentation and tool placement; time tool changes, gaging, and quality checks.
- Execute work sampling for indirect labor (IL) as needed; maintain study logs for non‑repetitive assignments.
- Apply predetermined time systems (e.g., MODAPTS) and standard data.
- Update standard documentation (VSOPs, SWIs, OPLs), including standard work, tool change info, and gaging/QC plans.
- Troubleshoot production systems and equipment for conformance to expected parameters.
- Log line/equipment performance (faults, defects, uptime, gaging time) and check cycle times.
- Analyze performance data, summarize findings, and write Kaizen proposals as required.
- Partner with Plant IT and Plant/Corporate Controls Engineering to correct FIS data and system issues.
- Own workstation assignments and line balancing in response to product, method, or volume changes.
- Support change control activities ensuring standards and documentation remain current.
- Collaborate with leadership to maintain efficient levels of lean manufacturing and manning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Knowledge of time study/standards, ratings, MODAPTS, ergonomic evaluations, MTM-UAS
- Ability to interface with all levels of the organization from shop floor to management
- Must be self-motivated
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to work any shift, overtime and some travel may be required occasionally
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing Assembly experience
- Launch experience
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
