Role summary / purpose
Engineering Technologist II - Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems and offer leadership and oversight in your area of expertise. You will develop advanced skills, work with greater independence, and provide technical guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
- Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
- Conduct engineering and related studies
- Develop positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
- Maintain accurate records and files
- Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally
- Continually improve job-related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance
Requirements - education & experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) from a college or university, OR
- 2 to 4 years of experience with an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent), OR
- 5 to 10 years of equivalent experience with no degree
- Experience in the utility industry
Required skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
- Understanding of basic principles of project management
