Barstow Community College is an open-access, comprehensive two-year institution serving a diverse student population in the Mojave region of San Bernardino County, California. The College's campus is located in the City of Barstow, California, situated in California's high desert, between Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Established in 1959, the Barstow Community College District (BCCD) encompasses a vast service area, stretching from the Nevada border on the East to Kern County on the West, and from Inyo County in the North to the San Bernardino Mountain range in the South. BCCD serves the communities of Barstow, Lenwood, Newberry Springs, Daggett, Yermo, Hinkley, Ludlow and Baker. The institution also maintains a satellite learning center at the U.S. Army National Training Center in Ft. Irwin, California, which serves military personnel and their families.

Barstow Community College is continuously recruiting for a pool of qualified applicants to support the Athletics program: 

The Barstow Community College Game Management will work home game day events with various duties assigned by supervisor concerning game day events.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

• Manage the scoreboard

• Run game clocks

• Track and report game statistics

• Serve as game announcer

• Retrieve and give balls at games

• Additional duties related to executing game day events as assigned by Supervisor

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Effective written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills

• Ability to use a computer.

• Must be dependable.

• Must be able to give excellent customer service in a professional and timely manner.

• Must be able to work some weekends.

• Must be a team player who can work with the students, members of the community, and athletes.

REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Requires reading, communication, and problem solving skills equivalent to a high school education or GED. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

This position is a Short Term Temporary Assignment.

Environment: Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments; work with a variety of athletic equipment; exposure to noise, dust, unpleasant odors, and inclement weather conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces. Positions may be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
