R&D Engineer I | Medical Devices | On-site | Nashville, TN
I work with a medical device company that uses state-of-the-art technology to develop ground-breaking endoscopic surgery advancements. They are looking for an R&D Engineer I - can be a recent graduate or an engineer in their first few years of industry experience to work with prototyping, documentation and design testing to help bring innovative devices from concept toward towards commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain internal prototyping machinery, such as laser cutting, 3D printing, and machining.
- Take part in the design and prototyping of innovative medical assemblies and devices.
- Create bespoke fixturing and test protocols to support benchtop testing, data collecting, and analysis of prototype devices.
- Learn and apply FDA/ISO medical device standards and design control practices with mentorship from senior engineers.
- Work together with the engineering team to integrate clinical and surgeon input into designs.
Requirements
- B.S in Biomedical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar CAD software (coursework or project experience is acceptable)
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail
- Familiarity with finite element analyses (or willingness to learn)
