What You Will Do
The Director of Sales is responsible for the overall leadership of the Company’s sales organization and achieving the company’s revenue growth goals through the acquisition and retention of high-impact strategic customers. You will be expected to develop strategic and tactical sales plans that produce a track record of long-term profitable growth. You will have the ability to function in a broad-based, fast-paced and high energy environment while being capable of driving detailed, tactical execution.
How You Will Make a Difference
Grow revenue with a focus on new customers and growing current customers
• Work with local sales teams to develop annual strategic sales plans that result in a track record of sales goals achievement (revenue and revenue mix targets)
• Help team members identify and prioritize high impact customers and projects
• Set targets for strategic relationships and lead sources
• Play a hands-on, direct role in sales and account management (as needed), including helping to lead and close deals (as needed), as well as managing relationships with key customers
Establish a robust lead generation methodology and opportunity pipeline:
• Develop a strategy for growth that considers geography, project type, and market segment
• Partner with Operations to identify and pursue projects that maximize strategic and financial opportunities
Coach all client-facing team members to be highly effective salespeople:
• In-person sales call training
• Effective follow-up on sales opportunities
• Market and account planning
Build out the sales organization to support future growth
• Work closely with HR to identify hiring needs for key positions
• Design and implement competitive sales compensation plans for the sales team
• Partner with the team to develop sales goals that align with the company's strategic goals
• Evaluate and track customer satisfaction; work with team members to improve satisfaction levels, increase retention, and grow revenues.

Education and Experience
• Undergraduate degree required.
• At least 5 years of experience in sales positions of increasing scope and responsibility. Prior sales experience for a distributed service business is preferred.
• Experience in heavy civil, vertical or commercial construction is a plus.

• Sedentary work.
