Description
As a Cost Accountant, you'll deliver accurate cost analysis, variance reporting, and financial insights to support decision-making and maintain strong financial control. You'll work closely with operations and accounting teams to track costs, analyze performance, and enhance reporting processes within a manufacturing environment.
About The Role
- Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, including standard costs, labor, and overhead.
- Conduct variance analysis on materials, labor, and overhead.
- Prepare reports and explanations for management review.
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monthly/quarterly financial reports.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain to validate cost data and support process improvements.
- Partner with engineering and plant administration to validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings.
- Assist with product profitability and margin analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Support external and internal audits as needed.
- All other duties as directed.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3'5 years of experience in cost accounting, ideally in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
- ERP system experience (e.g., Great Plains, SAP, or similar).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to explain cost insights clearly to diverse stakeholders.
