Description
As a CNC Maintenance Specialist, you’ll play a key role in keeping our precision machining facility running at peak performance. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working closely with production leaders, you’ll plan, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on CNC machines, industrial equipment, and facility systems. You’ll lead efforts to minimize downtime, implement preventive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with safety standards. By partnering with engineers, vendors, and team members, you’ll help drive reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across our operations.
About the Role
- Plan, organize and direct activities concerned with the maintenance of industrial equipment, machines, structures, facilities and systems.
- Plan and organize work to minimize unplanned downtime of production equipment, machinery, facilities and systems.
- Repairs and/or replaces equipment as needed, to the highest standard of quality at optimum cost and reliability.
- Assists with set up, implements and maintains a CMMS program to maintain all equipment. Revises PM schedules according to equipment use, production schedules and manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Inspect and review maintenance activities to monitor compliance with and safety and environmental codes, regulations, permits and company policies. Performs routine inspections to meet internal, OSHA and insurance requirements. Detects and corrects safety issues.
- Maintains high standards of housekeeping in the shop and plant areas where maintenance issues are performed.
- Maintains a timely supply and inventory of materials and spare parts as needed to insure uninterrupted or minimum downtime. Reviews supplies and consults manuals and blueprints.
- Consults with engineers and production management and employees.
- Advise maintenance personnel regarding symptoms, problems, and solutions.
- Create requisitions for supplies and materials to complete maintenance projects.
- Report accidents and complete appropriate documents.
- Investigate damage, accidents, or unplanned downtime, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
- Generate departmental plans to project equipment needs, generating training schedules for maintenance personnel and designating replacement parts for machinery and equipment.
- Confer with vendors or suppliers to obtain materials or services in accordance with appropriate company policies.
- Use long or short-term maintenance planning techniques.
- Utilize project management techniques.
- Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
- Building and grounds maintenance as directed by supervisor or management.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor or management.
About You
With strong technical and troubleshooting skills, you excel at keeping complex equipment running smoothly and reliably. You thrive in a hands-on environment, enjoy working collaboratively with production teams, and take pride in preventing downtime through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement.
- Certificate or equivalent experience in maintenance or electronics field, specifically in CNC Milling and Turning equipment.
- 7 to 10 years of related experience in CNC maintenance.
- Must be effective in troubleshooting and repairing equipment for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues.
- Desirable skills include knowledge of: Fanuc CNC control systems like Fanuc 21i-MB, OSP-P200L & OSP-U100L, F3iB5, Mazatrol 640TE along with PLC and HMI programming servo motor systems, single and 3 phase AC/DC motors; CNC operated metal cutting machine tools; fluid system, types of pumps, valves, etc.
