What You’ll Do
As a Loan Processor at Barrett, you are the heartbeat of the mortgage process, managing files from submission through final approval and making sure every detail is accurate. You will work closely with Loan Officers, Underwriters, and clients to keep things moving smoothly while providing a great experience for everyone involved.
Your day might include:
- Reviewing loan applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance before submission
- Verifying borrower income, employment, assets, and credit history
- Ordering and managing third-party documents such as appraisals, titles, and verifications of employment (VOE)
- Communicating proactively with borrowers and Loan Officers to request missing items, clarify details, and provide updates
- Preparing clean, organized files for underwriting review
- Conducting weekly pipeline reviews with Loan Officers to track progress and identify potential issues
- Completing Clear to Close and Closing checklists to ensure all conditions are met before funding
What You Bring
- Strong knowledge of mortgage processing procedures and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple files at once
- Experience with LOS systems (ARIVE preferred)
- The ability to work independently while being a supportive team player

- 2 years of mortgage broker processing experience
Responsibilities
- Gather information needed from applicants to file for the loan approval
- Gather and input information from applicants
- Verify applications, income, and employment
- Order property documents such as appraisals and signed contracts
- Constantly communicate with loan officers, management, and underwriters
- Manage a pipeline of 20 files
- Utilize multiple lender sites and systems to process the loans
- Ensure that loan rules, obligations, and deadlines are met
