Are you looking for your unicorn veterinary hospital? Our hospital is seeking to add our next long-term veterinary assistant or licensed technician to our small, yet incredible team! Exam Room Assistant Duties
Our exam room assistant is the team member that will gathering and recording the vitals and history for our patients when they are presented for an examination with the veterinarian. The exam room assistant is expected to assist the veterinarian and other team members with handling and restraint, as well as learning to clip nails, collect samples, fill prescriptions, and enter data into a computer system. Communication with our clients is a large part of the exam room assistants job, and we hope to build trust with them through this. A veterinary assistant will also be a part of the euthanasia process when it is time to say good bye to a beloved pet.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs
- Capable of walking dogs up to 175lbs
- Excellent computer operating skills (navigating a medical program, typing etc.)
- Communicating clear directions to pet owners
- Recording medical information about patients

- Someone who is comfortable presenting estimates to pet owners.
- Someone who can remain calm in an emotionally charged situation.
- Ability to follow directions accurately and properly.
