Position Summary

The Facility Manager oversees building operations, maintenance, and production equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and fully functional environment. This role leads maintenance staff, manages vendors, drives preventative maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and manage the maintenance team
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign daily work orders and tasks
  • Oversee day-to-day facility operations, staffing, and scheduling

Facility & Equipment Management

  • Maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems, and production equipment
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensure equipment uptime, reliability, and facility readiness
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety across all facility areas

Vendor Management

  • Manage contractors and service providers (HVAC, electrical, security, OEMs)
  • Negotiate contracts and control costs
  • Coordinate service, inspections, and repairs
  • Ensure vendor performance meets quality and safety standards

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
  • Conduct inspections and maintain facility security systems
  • Respond to emergencies and maintain quality standards

Budgeting & Continuous Improvement

  • Support budgeting, expense tracking, and CAPEX planning
  • Track maintenance metrics and performance
  • Drive initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce downtime

QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
  • 5 years in facilities, maintenance, or manufacturing
  • 2 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Experience with preventative maintenance and vendor management required
  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Solid vendor management and cost control experience
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule with availability for emergencies
  • Ability to lift equipment and work on feet for extended periods
  • Use of PPE required in production areas
