Shipping Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Shipping Manager to oversee our daily order fulfillment and shipping operations in Lenoir, NC. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring orders are processed accurately, shipped on time, and delivered with the highest level of quality. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment, leads by example, and has a strong background in shipping, logistics, inventory management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily shipping, order fulfillment, and dispatch operations.
- Manage the end-to-end fulfillment process, beginning with the master shipping schedule through final shipment.
- Ensure all customer orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Coordinate shipping schedules with production, warehouse, and customer service teams.
- Review and maintain shipping documentation, packing slips, bills of lading, and related records.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and work closely with warehouse personnel to resolve discrepancies.
- Supervise, train, and mentor shipping and warehouse staff while fostering a positive team environment.
- Establish daily priorities to meet customer shipping deadlines and production schedules.
- Collaborate with carriers and logistics partners to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve shipping delays or issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and shipping regulations.
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, warehouse efficiency, and overall productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Manager, Warehouse Manager, or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping manifests.
- Experience with inventory tracking systems and warehouse operations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize daily shipping deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and developing warehouse teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management or inventory software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of logistics coordination and carrier management.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and climb while working in the warehouse.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, moving equipment, and moderate noise levels.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (certification preferred but not required).
