Winter Shelter Aide

Duties may include:
- Helping maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and supportive environment for shelter guests, treating all guests with dignity, compassion and respect.
- Presenting guests with conduct guidelines, shelter contracts and prohibited materials. both verbally and in writing.
- Screening guests for prohibited items and kenneling needs, providing storage bags and documenting belongings.
- Assisting with cleaning, meals, laundry, and distributing supplies along with facilitating shower and restroom access as assigned.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and community members.
- Monitoring reception area, answering phones, and inventorying supplies.
- Addressing situations calmly and respectfully, using good judgment and compassion.
What We’re Looking For:
- Compassion, respect, and experience with individuals experiencing housing insecurities.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and de-escalate and redirect guests in distress.
- Experience or knowledge in behavioral health and trauma care preferred.
- Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
- Valid driver’s license, may be assigned occasional travel in Lincoln County to assist guests in meeting their needs as assigned.
Schedule & Pay
Evening Shift: 5:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Pay: $21.93 to $22.59/hour
Overnight Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Pay: $23.23 to $23.89/hour
Part-time and full-time positions available.
Start Date: Mandatory Training starts October 19th
