The Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a PRN Public Health Dental Hygienist to serve patients in all 8 counties using mobile dental equipment and providing treatment under a dentist's order. Position would have a flexible work schedule and would work around school calendar.
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary preventive dental services to the populations identified by BRDHD, including dental cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatment, and dental screenings in a mobile setting in Preschools/Headstarts and schools for kids ages Pre-K through 12th grade
- Maintain proper and accurate documentation in patient's medical records
- Responsible for setting up mobile dental equipment, sterilization of instruments, and the management of dental supplies
- Maintain CEU's required for licensure
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in the state of employment.
- An Associate’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Must have at least two years of experience with a minimum of 3000 hours in the practice of dental hygiene in accordance with KRS 313.040
