POSITION SUMMARY
The Regulatory Affairs Manager plays a critical role in ensuring Barr Brands’ products meet all applicable regulatory and retailer compliance requirements for our product portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Affairs, this role partners closely with Marketing, R&D, Operations, Quality, and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and optimized data management infrastructure across the product lifecycle.
This position leads key regulatory reporting programs, manages retailer compliance requirements, and leverages data and regulatory intelligence to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements. The role requires expertise in consumer product compliance, product lifecycle management systems, retailer compliance programs, and integrated regulatory data management. This role provides a unique opportunity to influence product compliance, innovation, and regulatory strategy across a portfolio of well-known consumer brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and coordinate regulatory and retailer reporting obligations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission across Barr Brands.
- Monitor compliance and process adherence through data analysis and auditing practices.
- Serve as the primary regulatory contact for retailer compliance programs, ensuring Barr products meet all reporting, testing, documentation, and certification requirements required by key retail partners.
- Partner with Marketing, R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure regulatory compliance while supporting business objectives within relevant product lifecycle or change-management systems, including but not limited to component compliance governance and product change impact assessments.
- Provide regulatory guidance and approval for product labeling, claims, and marketing content.
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs Specialist to ensure relevant data measures and documentation are available for reporting and product, regulatory, or customer changes are captured within documentation and/or systems.
- Manage US and other global Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance programs, including completion of company and product registrations, reporting submissions, engagement with responsibility organizations and/or regulators, and maintenance of compliance documentation/systems for all Barr product lines as needed.
- Monitor emerging legislative and regulatory developments impacting Barr products; assess risk/opportunity and advise internal business partners on business implications and required actions.
- Lead regulatory investigations and compliance assessments, partnering cross-functionally to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and strengthen compliance systems.
- Engage with and supports operations team within key quality, safety, and compliance programs.
- Update management regarding regulatory policies and procedural changes that impact company products; maintains thorough knowledge of company products, materials, chemistries, and processes.
- Implement new processes and process improvements needed for compliance adherence and efficiency.
- Provide education, consultation, and support on regulatory and customer driven product initiatives.
- Perform all work in accordance with Barr’s safety and quality guidelines and procedures; demonstrates clear understanding of these safety and quality objectives.
- Take a proactive approach to continuous learning and competency achievement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, Data Management or Business Administration with appropriate experience
- 5 or more years of experience in regulatory affairs, product compliance, or related regulatory roles.
- Experience with ERP and/or PLM and integrated regulatory data management systems strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance within consumer products, household chemicals, or related regulated industries preferred.
- Must be able to analyze complex or diverse regulatory information as well as collect, research, and utilize data.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence communicating with regulatory agencies, internal stakeholders, outside business partners, and regulatory consultants.
- Ability to apply high-quality, independent judgement in prioritizing projects with competing timelines, including communication and escalation of challenges and resource needs to management when necessary.
- Requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and desire to interact collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

- Typical office environment with moderate noise level.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, talk, hear, and see and ability for hand/wrist use for extended periods of time.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret regulatory reports, policies, standards, government regulations, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond verbally and in writing to common inquiries or complaints from executive and management employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community; ability to effectively present information to top management or employee groups.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Some (limited) travel may be required.
