What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Support Coordinator position at BARN (Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network)?
Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN) is a regional nonprofit center for arts and crafts on Bainbridge Island. Our mission is to grow and inspire a creative community through craft, learning, and service. As a Studio Support Coordinator you will partner with studio volunteers to maintain BARN’s catalog of classes and events.
Successful candidates will have strong organizational skills and excel at building collaborative relationships. You'll be most effective if you're naturally organized and detail-oriented, enjoy learning new software systems, and feel comfortable balancing multiple projects and deadlines. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll work closely with diverse volunteer teams to support their class offerings. Experience with data management is helpful, but we're looking for someone who is eager to become an expert in BARN's systems and processes.
This is a full-time, hourly position with standard business hours, Monday through Friday. The role is primarily in-person, with occasional work-from-home opportunities available as trust and familiarity with systems develop. Some evening and weekend support for special events may be required. Benefits include health and retirement benefits, paid time off, a BARN family membership, and staff education benefits (up to $300 per month towards class tuition).
Reports to: Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
- Review, configure, and post classes and events in BARN’s online catalog using BARN’s class management software, working collaboratively with studio volunteers.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with volunteer studio leadership teams to support and grow the number and variety of classes and events offered.
- Generate reports for studios to provide class statistics, survey feedback, and other information. Update reporting processes for new software.
- Register students and process payment for walk-ins, phone, or email registrations; respond to tuition assistance requests.
- Process changes to classes and registrations, including cancellations, rescheduling, refunds, and waitlist management.
- Manage financial information using BARN’s software systems; assist studio volunteers in developing class pricing and budgets, as requested.
- Monitor shared inboxes, address inquiries, and resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with computers, email, spreadsheets, and office software.
- Able and willing to quickly learn and master BARN’s software systems.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
- Good interpersonal skills, communication skills, and time-management skills.
- Able to accurately enter and manage data; able to proofread / correct errors.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree is a plus.
- Ability to conduct small group meetings professionally and effectively is a plus.
- Open to candidates from all backgrounds and career stages.
Pay Range: $24 to $27 per hour, depending on experience.
