Overview
We are asmall local CPA firm seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant (minimum 2–3 years) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of GAAP, and proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of financial functions, including corporate, non-profit, governmental, and public accounting engagements. Duties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Conduct accounts payable and receivable processing, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis to monitor financial health.
- Maintain accurate records using accounting software such as Lacerte, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.
- Extensive experience with corporate accounting principles, including GAAP and accrual accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Lacerte, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes
- Familiarity with financial analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel (advanced skills), financial report writing & interpretation skills
- Knowledge of securities law and regulatory reporting requirements
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
