Job Description:
We are looking for a knowledgeable and dependable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of heavy machinery including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, and more. You will play a key role in ensuring that our equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in heavy equipment
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
- Perform engine overhauls and equipment rebuilds as needed
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs
- Respond to on-site breakdowns and provide support in the field
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical school preferred)
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE Certification or OEM-specific training (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere)
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Experience with computerized diagnostics tools
