What are the responsibilities and job description for the Soft Line Sorter Associate position at Bargains Galore Thrift Store?
Responsible for quality control of soft line merchandise for pricing. Will work in Intake area of Thrift Store, sorting clothing, accessories, and sometimes shoes and other goods as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in processing center, ensuring quality soft line items reach the retail pricers.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area and perform all duties in a respectful, professional manner.
- Processors must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, or heavier on occasion, and keep up to date on latest fashion trends to help in decision making of clothing to keep or recycle.
- Position involves repetitive motions over the duration of an entire shift, including standing, repeated bending, stretching, twisting and lifting.
- Daily accuracy and productivity of work is necessary for inventory control and accountability.
- Refer customers’ complaints or inquiries to management.
- Provide assistance and support to other Bargains Galore staff as necessary. This may mean that employee aides in areas of processing other than regular duty station as necessary to maintain flow of operations, therefor flexibility is valued.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience, Competencies and Education: High School or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- One year of experience in a related field is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to store operations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions, adhere to policy, and make basic decisions.
Schedule: Ideal candidate will work Full time, 35-40 hours per week in our processing center. We are looking for someone who can work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. However, weekday off may be flexible to work with candidate's scheduling needs.
Compensation: Candidate will start at $17.50/hour. Employees receive store discount.
