HR Manager – Barfresh / Arps Dairy
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on HR Manager to lead and build the human resources function across Barfresh and Arps Dairy. This role supports a rapidly growing dairy beverage manufacturing operation including smoothies, drinkable yogurts, cultured products, and ice cream mix production.
The HR Manager will build scalable HR systems, support plant operations, and drive culture, compliance, and workforce performance. This is a critical leadership role requiring strong execution, daily plant presence, and the ability to scale teams quickly.
Core ResponsibilitiesHiring and Recruiting
· Lead full-cycle recruiting for all plant and corporate roles
· Build pipelines for hourly and skilled labor
· Manage staffing agencies
· Develop hiring strategies to support rapid growth
Employee Onboarding and Induction
· Design and implement structured onboarding programs
· Ensure GMP, food safety, and operational training for all new hires
· Standardize onboarding across Barfresh and Arps
Training and Development
· Develop training programs across all functions
· Implement cross-training and leadership development
· Ensure compliance training (GMP, OSHA, food safety)
Performance Management
· Implement performance management systems
· Establish KPIs and accountability
· Support supervisors in managing performance
Employee Relations and Conflict Management
· Manage employee relations issues
· Guide disciplinary actions
· Maintain a consistent and fair workplace
Compliance and Policy Management
· Ensure compliance with labor laws
· Develop HR policies and procedures
· Maintain documentation and reporting systems
Employee Engagement and Retention
· Develop retention strategies
· Build strong plant culture
· Monitor engagement and turnover
Health, Safety and Workplace Environment
· Support OSHA and safety programs
· Partner with operations on workplace safety
· Promote a culture of safety and accountability
Qualifications
· 5–10 years HR experience in manufacturing
· Experience in high-volume hiring environments
· Strong knowledge of labor laws and compliance
· Experience building HR systems
· Strong communication and leadership skills
