Position Summary:
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating nursing care provided to residents during assigned shifts. This role ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations, promotes resident safety and well-being, supervises nursing staff, and acts as a clinical resource and leader in the facility. The Supervisor supports the Director of Nursing in managing clinical operations, staffing, and quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, guide, and support LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel during the shift.
- Monitor resident care for compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct clinical rounds to assess resident conditions and nursing performance.
- Respond to emergencies, changes in resident conditions, and incident reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of nursing care and resident status.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
- Manage shift scheduling, delegate tasks, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and on-the-spot training to staff.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama.
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Preferred 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in long-term care or skilled nursing.
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to SNF operations (e.g., CMS, OBRA).
- CPR certification
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
