Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various clinical settings, including acute care, critical care, emergency medicine, and long-term care. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, performing assessments, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks is essential. The Registered Nurse will work in a dynamic environment that values professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality care across diverse patient populations.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA and aseptic techniques.
- Perform specialized procedures such as IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, ostomy care, and ventilator management.
- Manage airway patency and provide emergency interventions including basic life support (BLS) and airway management.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with case management for post-acute care arrangements.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, mammography, and medical imaging.
- Provide specialized care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal ventilator management, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health.
- Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
- Educate patients and families on health coaching, medication administration, nutrition, family planning, and disease management strategies.
- Maintain compliance with all healthcare standards including NCQA standards and CPT/ICD coding requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital medicine or medical-surgical units with exposure to ICU or Level I/II Trauma Centers preferred.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is required.
- Background in critical care including ICU experience or trauma medicine is highly desirable.
- Prior work in emergency room settings or urgent care clinics is advantageous.
- Skilled in advanced procedures such as spinal tap, gastrostomy management, dialysis support (including vascular access), and infectious disease care.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including children (pediatric/neonatal), seniors (geriatrics/memory/dementia care), individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and post-acute care protocols is a plus.
