Position Overview:
The Barbour Account Manager – Will be responsible for leading a territory of specialty store accounts and hitting sales and profitability goals. This will be achieved by working with the accounts in developing the business potential of the territory and driving the Barbour brand awareness in the field. The Account Manager will be critical in optimizing Barbour points of distribution while also providing best in class account support. This role will also be influential in facilitating communication and the execution of strategic sales opportunities to maximize growth and KPI’s.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports to and works closely with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) in achieving top line growth and financial targets through Barbour sales teams and brand strategies.
- Responsible for managing and achieving Key Sales Measures & Objectives: Sales bookings, profitability, T&E, returns, cancellations, reorders, prospecting, etc.
- Set territory seasonal sales targets with RSM to drive business growth YoY.
- Prepares for consistent communication with the RSM on periodic calls and other strategy meetings in order to develop & align on Barbour brand priorities, field strategy, commercial/sales & profitability tactics.
- Acts as Brand Ambassador in providing feedback to the brand team from the covered region on product assortment needs, effective brand strategies, essential marketing materials & commercial programs.
- Collaborates with corporate counterparts (i.e. other brand divisions, Marketing, Planning, etc) in delivering broader synergy programs through the Barbour “Joined Up” philosophy.
- Partners with the RSM on brand priorities that will help close the gaps/maximize opportunities to align the commercial calendar and drive territory sales goals.
- Provides RSM details as requested with verbal/written recaps of regional sales, account development, product performance, prospecting & territory successes, and opportunities.
- Supports in executing training on the brand to customers through regional & local events
- Owns maximizing broader Barbour portfolio of categories in territory, i.e. Men’s, Ladies, Kids, Accessories, Footwear.
- Provides support and attends local trade and industry events as required.
- Tenaciously promotes and defends the brand.
- Significant US and international travel required within assigned region up to 25-50% of time (can be inclusive of overnights).
Skills and Experience:
- University degree in Business or similar a preference.
- Wholesale sales experience in a multi-store setting. Specific to apparel industry a plus.
- Preference to those with Independent Account, Specialty Store and B2B experience.
- Strong Retail Math skills.
- History of demonstrating leadership and follow through.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver on goals and assignments.
- Ability to quickly generate and initiate creative solutions to problems as they arise.
- Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence aptitude.
- Confident & comfortable conveying strategies to large groups of people.
- Able to stay focused on key strategic goals.
- Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, NuOrder
