Position Summary

As a Tree Estimator / Sales Representative, you will work directly with residential, commercial, and municipal clients by evaluating tree care needs, preparing accurate proposals, educating customers on proper tree care, and coordinating projects from estimate through completion.

Success in this position requires strong arboricultural knowledge, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships while supporting the operational success of our crews.

Primary Responsibilities

• Meet with residential, commercial, and municipal clients to evaluate tree care needs.
• Prepare accurate estimates and professional proposals for tree trimming, removals, stump grinding, plant health care, emergency work, and related services.
• Provide outstanding customer service throughout the entire sales process.
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships while generating new business opportunities.
• Follow up on estimates, answer customer questions, and assist clients in selecting the best solutions for their properties.
• Coordinate with operations to schedule work efficiently and communicate all job specifications and customer expectations.
• Help organize work schedules to maximize crew productivity and equipment utilization.
• Ensure required permits, traffic control, utility notifications, and road closure requirements are addressed before work begins.
• Conduct post-job follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and identify additional service opportunities.
• Represent Barberton Tree Service at community events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in the tree care industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of tree service sales or estimating experience.
• Minimum of 3 years working as a full-time Arborist.
• Extensive knowledge of tree pruning, removals, rigging, climbing, aerial lifts, crane operations, and industry best practices.
• Strong understanding of tree care equipment, capabilities, and operational limitations.
• Ability to identify native tree species and recognize proper pruning techniques.
• Experience working in confined work areas and developing safe, effective work plans.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, mapping software, and GPS navigation.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• CDL is preferred but not required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.
