Bar@548 in St. Petersburg, Florida, is seeking a motivated and self-proclaimed deli-style chef with extensive cooking and preparation experience. We are looking for an individual to collaborate with our administrative team to introduce a deli-style food menu featuring prepped sandwiches, salads, bar bites, and munchies. Our ideal candidate has some experience in food cost management, cooking, and food preparation. Most importantly, they have the confidence to create a creative yet simple menu. The position starts as part-time and has the potential to transition to full-time as the program expands and develops.
Starting hours will vary weekdays from 11am-4pm until program grows.
Responsibilities
- Create recipes and prepare simple dishes
- Train staff on how to serve dishes.
- Sanitize and prepare equipment and workstation for cooking
- Weigh and measure ingredients
- Mix, wash, peel, chop, grind, strain, slice meat and vegetables
- Basic cooking functions such as Sandwich Prep
- Label stock and inventory all ingredients
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate and listen to team members
- Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
- Experience as a Prep Cook or Deli Service
- Familiar with how to properly use Meat Slicer
- Food Handler Certified or within 30 Days.
