Overview
Bar Harbor Winery is located in Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island. It's locally owned by a young winemaker whose vision is to make great wine accessible and affordable. We have a small vineyard, blueberry field, and orchard on the premise. All of our wines are vinted, finished, and bottled on site in our production building. We focus on sustainable and ethical sourcing of our material whenever possible. In addition to wines, the winery is known for carrying a number of locally crafted products for retail sales. In addition to selling wine we prioritize working with and supporting small local business.

Position open:

Position Period: June 12th-October (Shift: 12pm-6:30pm, Tuesday-Saturday)

Requirement:

21 years of age or older as you will be working pouring and serving alcohol

What we are looking for:

Bar Harbor Winery is looking for someone who has interest in developing their skills in the wine industry and is excited to be part of a millennia's old tradition. A motivated individual who enjoys a fast paced, dynamic working environment. We need someone who is able to complete a variety of tasks from service to sanitation. We are looking for someone who can adapt quickly, handle the stress of rushes, all while maintaining a professional inviting demeanor. Preferably, someone who knows their way around a POS system and who has serving or bar experience. You will work with a small tight knit team providing bar/table service to customers. You will work on upselling a range of products from our wines to local artisan made products. You'll be expected to work with fellow staff to ensure quality standards are met while maintaining a clean work space.

What we offer:

We provide opportunity for staff to learn about the fundamentals of the wine industry or to gain further knowledge. We also offer general training for those new to the industry. You will gain knowledge in viticulture, wine making, and the sale of wines. You will also get to learn about not just our business but the local area of Mount Desert Island. You will work alongside experienced staff and the winemaker/owner. As one of our stewards you will gain experience working with a small team, providing memorable experiences and knowledge to guests while featuring our artisan small batch wines. Gain experience in working with customers of all different walks of life. Becoming enriched with the wide variety of cultures that surrounds the industry. Summary:

Come join us working at our small craft winery located just outside of the beautiful Acadia National Park. Grow your skills in the wine industry by learning everything from growing the fruit, producing the wine, to serving and describing the nuisances of the final product.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
