All positions at Baptist Village, Inc. include holidays and weekends as they fall within your schedule. Additional worked hours may be needed due to workload demands.
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing
- Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty is preferred
- Experience with administrative and supervisory techniques
- Available to work holidays and weekends as scheduling requires
- Good physical health condition and pass a physical examination
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Directs nursing service activities and nursing staff.
- Participate in resident care plans.
- Assign duties to professional and ancillary nursing personnel based on residents' needs, available staff, and unit needs.
- Supervise and evaluate work performance in terms of resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
- Provide RN nursing care for residents and cooperate with other members of the medical care team.
- Identify nursing service problems and assist in their solutions.
- Ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance with the physicians' instructions.
- Maintain a safe environment for residents.
- Operate and supervise the operation of specified equipment assigned to the unit and provide assistance and guidance to the nursing team as required.
- Accompany physicians on rounds to answer questions, receive instructions, and note residents' care requirements.
- Render professional RN nursing care and instruct residents and members of their families in techniques and methods of home care after discharge.
- Prepare and maintain residents' clinical records, including nursing and medical treatments and related services provided by nursing personnel.
- Investigate and report complaints or unusual occurrences to appropriate persons.
- Ensure established inventory standards for medicines, solutions, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure accountability for narcotics.
- Assist with orientation for new personnel to job requirements, equipment, and unit personnel.
- Instruct unit personnel concerning new nursing care techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Evaluate individual work performance through observation, spot-checking work completed, and conferences.
- Promote staff development.
- Attend meetings of supervisory and administrative staff to discuss unit operation and staff training needs and to formulate programs to improve these areas.
- Interpret nursing home policies and regulations for staff members, residents, families, and visitors, and ensure conformance.
- Perform RN duties of medication nurse and CNA as needed or determined by the department supervisor.
- Participate in the quality assurance program.
- Attend in-service education classes as required and obtain the required number of hours per year.
- Maintain infection control standards by use of universal precautions.
- The RN is authorized to have unlimited access to resident health information as needed to provide treatment, for billing purposes, or for the purpose of healthcare operations.
- Other duties may be assigned.
