Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for the Medical Laboratory Science Program Chair located in Memphis, TN. The Program Chair will oversee curriculum development, ensure compliance with accreditation standards, and foster academic excellence in the Medical Laboratory Science program. Responsibilities include providing leadership to faculty, coordinating program assessments, teaching courses, mentoring students, supervising faculty, serving on college and university committees, and implementing strategies for program enhancement. The individual will also engage with healthcare partners to build opportunities for program growth and student success.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead and manage academic programs effectively and foster a supportive learning environment
- Knowledge
of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures
Earned doctorate or master's degree from an accredited institution in the teaching or professional discipline or in a related or academically appropriate discipline with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline
- Three (3) years college teaching (minimum) in the discipline or exceptional scholarly achievement or creative accomplishments as recognized as clearly equivalent
Current licensure/certification, board certification registration or license to practice in the State of Tennessee as appropriate to professional practice areas and ASCP BOC or ASCPi BOC generalist certification as a medical laboratory scientist
