Job Summary: Performs pre-admission screenings of patients of which an ARU referral has been ordered, determines if the patient meets ARU admission criteria, collaborates with case-management concerning insurance benefits and initiates admission process. Assumes responsibility for completing and submitting the IRF- PAI to CMS according to State and Federal regulations. Community Education Liaison in conjunction with the rest of the Behavioral Health Team and Acute Rehabilitation Unit is responsible for the planning and implementation of a comprehensive community education program. They coordinate the referral development process, develops and maintains accurate community education information, maintains account management systems, as well as coordinating the two unit’s internal and external communication programs.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field is preferred. Certification in associated area of expertise is preferred. NIHSS certification within one year position hire date. Current licensure by the Kentucky Board of Nursing is also required. BLS Certification is required. ACLS certification is preferred within 3 months, not to exceed 6 months. EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of experience in nursing with demonstrated leadership skills is required.
