Summary
The associate is responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of Fancy Finds Ministry, including stocking and merchandising the store, transacting sales, repurposing items, as well as assisting with events. The individual in this position must demonstrate the Institution's purpose, philosophy, policies and procedures and its mission.
Qualifications
Fancy Finds staff and volunteers:
Capability to operate POS system. Capability and/or willingness to learn how to power tools safely and efficiently. Ability to lift/ move heavy items, some by carrying (alone or with others) and some using dollies, carts, and other such equipment.
Language Skills
Ability to read, write and complete necessary documents. Protract the skills to effectively present information (both written and oral) and respond to questions from callers, resources and the general public.
Contact With Others
Regular contact with colleagues in all departments, as well as with outside individuals and groups; should represent Baptist Children's Homes of NC, Inc. in a positive manner. Contacts outside of the agency where proper handling of situations is of utmost importance as the agency's image could be affected.
Mental / Visual / Auditory Demand
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and ability to draw conclusions. Ability to count money, cash or electronic, and ensure integrity of sales transactions.
Confidential Data
Work with confidential data such as telephone conversations, BCH administrative and program data that if disclosed, would have adverse internal and/or external effect.

- Have working knowledge of Point Of Sale ( POS) system and operation
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to relate effectively with people from various backgrounds.

Fancy Finds staff and volunteers:
- Helps maintain operations of Fancy Finds
- Participates in training of new volunteers
- Communicate internally and externally in a tactful, courteous, and professional manner, recording and delivering pertinent messages and following up on calls or correspondence with requested communication as needed in a timely manner.
- Exhibit professionalism when communicating with Baptist Children's Homes of N.C. (BCH) employees and public contacts
- Follow up with callers when appropriate to determine if they received the services they needed
- Assist with generating reports as needed.
- Continue increasing knowledge and skills in Repurposing , Estate and Downsizing sales, and DIY classes
- Master new techniques and skills as required to perform duties efficiently
- Assist with training for staff and volunteers.
- Represent BCH and Fancy Finds ministry in a professional manner
- Keep supervisor(s) informed on current status of total work responsibilities
- Carry out all assignments and directives according to the established timelines and deadlines set forth by Fancy Finds management.
