At Bantam Coffee Roasters, we take pride in our "small but mighty" approach to specialty coffee. We are a high-volume, local roastery and shop where quality and speed collide. We are currently looking for a seasoned Barista who doesn't just want a job behind a counter, but wants to build a career in the coffee industry.

The Role

We are looking for a professional who thrives when the line is out the door and the steam wand is active. Because we roast our own beans on-site, our baristas are the final, crucial link in the chain from farm to cup. You will be responsible for maintaining our high standards of extraction, milk chemistry, and customer engagement in a fast-moving environment.

• The 2-Year Standard: This is a position for experienced pros. You must have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a specialty coffee environment.
• Technical Excellence: You should be fully confident in dialing in espresso, troubleshooting flavor profiles, and pouring consistent, high-quality latte art under pressure.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Barista experience (Strict Requirement).
• Professional references from previous coffee employers.
• Availability for Morning: 5:30AM-1:30PM and Day 7AM - 3PM

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items with precision and consistency.
• Lead and motivate the barista team to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Manage POS transactions using Aloha POS and Micros POS systems accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties.
• Oversee daily café operations, ensuring cleanliness, food safety, and food preparation standards are maintained.
• Assist in training new team members on food handling, food safety, and POS procedures.
• Maintain inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
• Ensure adherence to health regulations and safety protocols within the café environment.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
• Support sales initiatives by engaging with customers and promoting menu items.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Barista with a strong background in coffee preparation and food service.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a café or retail setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Aloha POS, Micros POS, and retail math is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse customer needs professionally.
• Strong organizational skills with effective time management capabilities.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, serving practices, and basic math for cash handling and sales transactions.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
