Aerospace Sheet Metal Raw Material Inspector

Banner Metalcraft is currently seeking a skilled and motivated quality control professional responsible for verifying that incoming metal stock meets strict aerospace industry standards, regulatory requirements, and engineering specifications before it is used in production. This role will ensure material integrity to prevent structural failures in aircraft and aerospace components. Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality metal products, ensuring they meet strict specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Documentation Verification: Correlating manufacturer markings on raw materials with Mill Test Certificates (MTCs), purchase orders, and customer specs to confirm material grade, heat number, and chemical composition.
• Visual Inspection: Checking for surface defects such as corrosion, pitting, mill scale, scratches, lamination, or mechanical damage.
• Dimensional Inspection: Measuring thickness, width, and length using precision tools like micrometers, vernier calipers, and measuring tapes.
• Compliance & Compliance Standards: Ensuring all materials adhere to standards such as AS9100 and MIL-SPEC.
• Material Certification Review: Reviewing raw material test reports (RMTR) to ensure compliance with material specifications.
• Storage & Handling: Ensuring raw materials are stored correctly to prevent damage or degradation (e.g., preventing corrosion due to improper storage

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Technical Knowledge: Understanding of metal fabrication.

· Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

• Forklift Operator Certification (a Plus)

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
