PURPOSE:
The SVP, Director of Information Technology is accountable for leading a forward-thinking IT organization that champions innovation, including the strategic adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. This role oversees IT Operations, application delivery and support, end user and desktop services, and infrastructure and network management. The SVP, Director of Information Technology ensures that the Bank’s IT strategy not only aligns with but accelerates the business strategy—driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency, enhancing digital capabilities, and collaborating with business lines to deliver scalable, secure, and future-ready technology solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic
- Designs and optimizes IT processes, including change management aligned with ITIL standards, to enhance agility, governance, and responsiveness.
- Fosters a data-driven culture, implements analytics tools, and ensures data governance.
- Develops and manages strategic relationships with technology vendors, consultants and service providers.
- Champions innovation and emerging technologies, including AI, to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and enhanced service delivery.
- Participates in strategic planning, budgeting and make recommendations for information technology projects.
Leadership
- Implements and upholds IT best practices to drive operational excellence, system reliability, and continuous improvement across all technology functions.
- Direct the Banks Information Security program
- Leads the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures.
- . Manages the Bank’s communication infrastructure, including local and wireless networks, internet, telephony, and all associated hardware and software systems.
- In partnership with the Committee Chair, develops the Bank’s Technology Committee agenda and materials.
- Participates in other Bank committees as required.
- Foster a high-performing, cross-trained IT team by demonstrating strong communication and delegation skills, promoting professional growth, and encouraging collaboration across roles and responsibilities.
- Evaluates and mitigates technology risks prior to implementing changes or investments, supporting enterprise risk management through updated assessments in IT, customer data, business continuity, and vendor oversight.
Support, Administration and Maintenance
- Develops and maintains the IT service catalog, defines appropriate service levels, and sets clear expectations across IT and business lines to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Oversees incident management, ensuring timely resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive measures to minimize disruptions.
- Ensures effective application support, including administration and maintenance of enterprise-wide systems such as the intranet, file sharing platforms, email, and core banking processors.
- Delivers customer-centric IT services through a high-performing help desk, consistently meeting or exceeding predefined service levels and satisfaction benchmarks.
- Leads desktop support operations, ensuring standardized deployment and maintenance of approved applications for a secure and efficient user experience.
- Ensures system availability and resilience to support the Bank’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, maintaining readiness for unforeseen events.
- Provide hands-on support during staff absences or peak workload periods, ensuring continuity of departmental operations and maintaining service excellence. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or equivalent education from a technical or trade school; 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of Bank operations and lending products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures preferred.
- Advanced experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible information technology department operations, management and supervisory activities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to provide leadership, supervision and demonstrated ability in organization and delegation.
EFFORT:
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as telephones, computers, photocopiers, and scanners.
- Use of hands and fingers to handle/ operate a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, scanner, computer printer,
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, distance visions, ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.; periodic walking or standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Standard 40/50 hour work week expected, though position may sometimes require early arrival, late departure, and/or Saturday / Sunday hours.
- Frequent distractions include overhearing coworker conversations, employees working through the area and similar interruptions.
Salary : $106,990 - $181,880
