Summary
The Loan Closing Specialist will oversee commercial loan activity throughout all phases in the process. This position is responsible for coordinating with multiple departments located in various states and branches while meeting loan processing deadlines. A strong work ethic and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality are required.
Essential Functions
- Perform Loan Assistant duties for all Commercial and Agricultural Lenders
- Collaborate with lenders to obtain title work, flood determinations and order appraisals
- Complete loan process documents such as pre-closing checks, closing documents, book/fund loans, and post-closing
- Verify lien coverage and collateral positions prior to closing
- File necessary documentation to secure collateral position at the time of loan closure
- Order property and loan documentation such as appraisals, inspections, title searches, site surveys, contracts, and property tax records to help process mortgage loan files
- Ensure loan files meet lending and regulatory guidelines and policies
- Maintain detailed documentation of the process in our system - from origination to close
- Advanced knowledge of federal, lending and company regulations.
- Focus on teamwork and collaboration for the growth of the department
Required Skills/Abilities
- Professional, excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Critical thinking and time management abilities
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and mathematical proficiency
- Ability to effectively contribute to a positive team environment
- Experience in mortgage lending and knowledge of loan types, and software such as Navigator (FiServ), Sageworks, Appraisal Shield and Director
Education and Experience
- 2 years relevant experience in commercial lending
- Bachelor’s Degree perferred
