Bank of the Rockies is seeking a Loan Officer to join its team. The Loan Officer could be located in any of the Bank’s Montana with preferences for candidates in Livingston or Lewistown, MT.
The Job. The Loan Officer is responsible for originating and underwriting consumer, Real Estate/Mortgage, agriculture (“ag”), and commercial credits; as well as managing and moving said loans through the Bank’s pipeline from inquiry to application to post-closing monitoring. The Loan Officer is responsible for structuring all loans (including FSA, SBA, USDA, Farmer Mac or other loan programs) consistent with Bank policy and in line with incumbent’s lending limit, and preparing loan presentations for review by approving lenders or by the Bank’s Senior Loan Committee.
The incumbent is responsible for significant contribution to the department’s growth and profitability through business development activities. The incumbent must maintain positive relationships with banking customers and effectively manage his/her loan portfolio to include renewals, modifications and collections.
The Loan Officer must be able to effectively use Bank’s loan origination software to aid in all facets of underwriting and origination.
The Loan Officer will require strong sales skills to make quality, cross-department referrals and appropriate recommendations to customers of other banking products. The incumbent must possess excellent time management skills, written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and strong interpersonal relationship management skills.
Team. The Loan Officer will report to the Senior Lender, and will work closely with all of the lending department leads/VPs.
Education & Experience. Candidates with all levels of experience, education and skills are encouraged to apply; including recent graduates.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, accounting, finance, or some related field preferred but not required. Preferred qualifications also include some experience in banking and/or lending.
