Position Summary
Bank of South Texas is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Loan Processor to support our lending team. The Loan Processor will assist loan officers throughout the loan process by gathering documentation, coordinating with customers and third parties, preparing loan files, and helping ensure loans are completed accurately and efficiently.
Previous banking or lending experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate. Salary will be based on experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist Loan Officers with processing new loans, renewals, extensions, and modifications.
- Collect and organize required financial and loan documentation from customers.
- Review loan files for completeness and follow up on missing documentation.
- Coordinate with customers, title companies, insurance agents, appraisers, attorneys, and other third parties.
- Order and track items such as title commitments, appraisals, flood determinations, insurance documentation, surveys, and other required reports.
- Assist with preparing loan documentation and coordinating loan closings.
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical loan files.
- Monitor pending loans and communicate loan status and outstanding items to Loan Officers.
- Assist with post-closing documentation and ensure required documents are received and properly filed.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
- Perform other lending and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous banking, lending, loan processing, title, mortgage, or administrative experience preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with customers and outside professionals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and personal information appropriately.
- Willingness to learn banking procedures, loan documentation, and lending regulations.
Preferred Skills
Experience with commercial, real estate, or construction lending is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided to a qualified candidate who demonstrates strong organizational skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
