JOB PURPOSE:
The Bank Operations Specialist manages essential, daily back-office functions to ensure seamless, secure, and accurate financial transactions. They act as a technical, detail-oriented support resource, resolving complex issues for clients and team members.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reconcile and process various operational items, including:
- Unposted and exception items
- Overdrafts and NSF items
- Cash letter items (incoming/outgoing returns, large items, and adjustments)
- Stop payments
- ACH and Positive Pay exception reports
- Mobile deposit capture items
- Balance bank general ledgers, correspondent accounts and internal deposit accounts.
- Input, process, review and reconcile domestic and international wire transfers.
- Review and manage various applications, contracts, and agreements (Client Information Files, Accounts, digital banking, cash management, ACH, remote deposit capture, mobile deposit, & wire).
- Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) by reviewing Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) for completeness and timely transmittal to FinCEN, monitoring accounts, investigating potential suspicious activity, and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as appropriate.
- Handle ACH originator access setup in digital banking, monitor ACH limits, and ensure periodic ACH reviews and compliance with NACHA rules and regulations.
- Assist in training team members on systems, policies, and procedures.
- Compile necessary reports and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Provide support to the Deposit Services Team, Deposit Operations Team, Bank Operations Team and other bank departments.
- Serve as the primary backup to the AVP Bank Operations Officer.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS RECOMMENDED:
1. Education and/or Related Experience
- An Associate's degree or higher is preferred. Alternatively, 2-3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is acceptable.
- Basic understanding of key federal banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Sanctions Programs.
- Proficient in Google Suite, including comprehensive knowledge of Excel.

PAY: $19.00 to $28.00 per hour
