Banesco USA is seeking a Systems Administrator for our Infrastructure unit.

Primary Job Duties

• Recommends and develops on the overall infrastructure and network strategy to support all banking systems, third-party applications, customer facing systems, technology platforms, partnerships and external relationships.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive patch management strategy for servers, workstations, and network devices including but not limited to testing, validations, deployment and reporting.
• Analyze vulnerability scan reports from tools like Nessus, Qualys, or Rapid7 to identify and prioritize critical and high-severity vulnerabilities. Apply necessary security patches, configuration changes, or other mitigation techniques to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve user-reported issues that arise after patch deployments, such as application crashes, performance degradation, or loss of functionality.
• Root Cause Analysis: Perform in-depth root cause analysis for recurring or widespread patch-related problems to identify underlying issues and prevent future occurrences.
• Knowledge Transfer: Create and maintain documentation (knowledge base articles) for the helpdesk team detailing common patch-related issues and their resolutions.
• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the helpdesk and the infrastructure team, providing clear updates on the status of escalated tickets and expected resolution times.
• Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with collaborating departments and data center.
• Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating the bank’s strategy, identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating needs.
• Manage, maintain Server system environment (Disk, Memory, and CPU).
• Assist management in the strategic plan and budget of infrastructure and networking investment.
• Ensure that personnel have uninterrupted access to critical information in the event of a power outage, natural or manmade disaster, or any other disruption.
• Supports incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches as necessary.
• Ability to identify security risks and create a process to mitigate the risks.
• Responsible for the daily operations of the following IT functions: operating system software, banking applications software, patch management, and entitlement review.
• Responsible to work with outside consultants/auditors as needed for independent security audits.
• Maintain an inventory log of all IT systems, assets and IT controls which should include detailed descriptions as well as diagrams to show the physical and logical placement of systems and controls, and must maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Routinely monitor, evaluate and test the following IT controls deployed throughout the bank, such as:
• Server log data to correlate with known and potential security vulnerabilities and integrity issues
• Patch management
• Vulnerability remediation
• Enterprise backup solution
• Virus protection management
• Monitoring of applications, servers and hardware.
• Ability to work outside the normal work schedule to ensure implementations are completed as necessary.
• Responsible for completing annual training program assigned.
• Performs other functions and/or duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Five (5) to Ten (10) years of experience in Information Technology.
• Certifications in at least one of the following: CompTIA A , CompTIA Security , CompTIA Server , Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, VMware Certified Professional.
• Advanced knowledge in VMware, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Networking concepts such as routing and switching concepts.
• Knowledge of DHCP, FTP, VLANs.
• Experienced in deploying Microsoft and 3 rd party patches (Kace preferred), vulnerability remediation (Qualys Vulnerability Management preferred), backup scheduling and monitoring. (Veeam Backup and Replication).
• Knowledge of related State and Federal banking compliance regulations highly preferred.
• Ability to multi-task, with strong organization, time-management and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and independently with the ability to make decisions according to established guidelines and accomplish tasks accurately and on a timely basis.
• Ability to convey technical concepts and ideas to non-technical people.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
