Position Summary
The Construction Engineer is responsible for supporting senior construction engineering personnel by carrying out routine assignments at Los Alamos National Laboratory. This role operates within the Construction Management Division in either an administrative or technical capacity. The Construction Engineer completes assigned tasks under regular supervision and guidance. This position typically requires a degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent specialized coursework. Candidates may also qualify with relevant certifications and approximately five years of related work experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support construction engineering personnel with routine assignments
- Perform tasks under routine supervision and technical guidance
- Assistin administrative or technical functions within assigned discipline
- Contribute to project execution and documentation as directed
- Apply basic construction engineering principles and practices
- Maintainaccuratedocumentation and records related to job functions.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.
- Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific discipline (or equivalent)
- Five (5) years of relevant experience (or combination of education and experience)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communicationand organizational skills
- Ability to work through problems quickly and effectively and define a clear path to resolution
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications desirable
