Position Summary
The Director of Government Operations is responsible for the strategic oversight, execution, and growth of Banda Group International’s portfolio of federal and state contracts. This leadership role ensures that complex technical projects spanning environmental services, construction oversight, and security are managed with the financial and operational rigor required by government agencies. The Director serves as a key liaison between technical experts and government stakeholders, ensuring all deliverables align with the company’s core commitment to safety, compliance, and excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for government sector project management, ensuring consistency with BGI’s infrastructure and financial systems.
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities and contract vehicles within federal agencies and state entities.
- Oversee the lifecycle of government contracts, including proposal development, cost management, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of technical experts to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact for government Contracting Officers and Technical Representatives to foster long-term partnerships.
- Coordinate international operations for government-led projects, ensuring logistics and safety protocols are met in diverse global locations.
- Monitor organizational performance against KPIs to ensure profitability and high-quality technical support for all government assignments.
- Champion BGI’s status as a Employee-Owned Company during strategic networking and project pursuits.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to job functions.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or incidents to management.
- Participate in required training sessions and safety briefings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Project Management, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in government operations, project management, or technical consulting.
- Extensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and government procurement processes.
- Proven experience managing large-scale, concurrent projects with high levels of complexity.
- PMP or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
