Summary Of Job Responsibilities

The Shipping Clerk Level 1 is responsible for performing basic shipping and warehouse tasks including picking, packing, labeling, and preparing customer orders for shipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of shipping and warehouse operations.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Adheres to all companyEnvironmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Participates in the continuous improvement process;maintainswarehouse and shipping areas in a neat, clean, and orderly mannerin accordance with5S practices.
• Picks customer orders accurately from warehouse stock whilemaintainingFirst-in-First-out control.
• Packsorders usingappropriate materialsfor the product and shipping method.
• Affixes correct shipping labels on packed cartons.
• Assembles cardboard containers, cartons, and builds any other packagingmaterialsas necessary.
• Secures packages for shipment by usingbanding appropriatesystem.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure all aspects of the shipments meet specifications.
• Operates powered industrial trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments to and from warehouse and workarea.
• Performs periodic cycle counts.
• Activelyparticipatesin continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participates in corrective action meetings.
• Assistsin other warehouse functions when needed.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job successfully. 

• Understanding ofworkplace safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy inorderfulfillment and documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
• Basic familiarity with computers and basic software applications.
• Strong situational and physical awareness.
• Basic knowledge of label printers.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software is a plus.
• Knowledge of the operation of material handling equipment.
• Ability to pass Powered Industrial Truck certification within60 days.
• Meetsbeginnerlevel competency on all requirements forpicking components insmall parcel and picking and packaging components infreight/LTL.
  
  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

• High School Diploma or GED,required.
• Wav, electric pallet jack certification, or ability to obtain in30 days.
• 6 monthsof experience with order picking and/or RF Scanner.
• 6 monthsof experience shipping in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $41,300.00 - $61,900.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
