HOURS
This is a full-time position requiring regular in-person attendance.
The Accounts Payable & Payroll manager is responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end accounts payable and payroll functions. This role ensures timely and accurate processing, compliance with banking regulations and continuous improvement of financial processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in financial operations within a large or highly regulated environment.

Accounts Payable Management
- Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals, and disbursements
- Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
Payroll Management
- Manage and oversee payroll processing for a large, multi-state employee base
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Coordinate with HR on employee data, benefits deductions, and compensation changes
- Review and approve payroll reports, tax filings, and reconciliations
- Assist with annual budgeting process to include compilation of data and benefit calculations
Leadership & Strategy
- Supervise and mentor AP and payroll staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
- Develop and improve policies, procedures and workflows for efficiency and compliance
- Collaborate with internal departments including HR & Internal Audit.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and ensuring adherence to financial controls.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with banking regulation, internal policies, and financial reporting standards
- Maintain records and documentation for audit readiness
- Assist with variance analysis as required

Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in accounts payable and payroll, preferably in banking or financial services
- 2 years of management or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and financial controls
Key Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with heavy emphasis on Excel
- Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, banking software applications
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Integrity and commitment to confidentiality
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Experience in a large, complex, or highly regulated organization
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit processes
- Familiarity with AvidXchange (Ascend) and ADP
- Banking or accounting experience preferred
