What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Director/Administrator position at Bambini Montessori Academy?
Bambini Montessori Academy is seeking an experienced and passionate Childcare Director to lead our Montessori-based early childhood program for children ages infant to 5 years old. The Director will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and Office of Child Care (OCC) regulations, and support a positive, nurturing learning environment for children, families, and staff.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily operations of the center, including staffing, enrollment, and licensing compliance.
Supervise and support teachers and staff through training, scheduling, and evaluations.
Maintain strong relationships with families and promote open communication.
Ensure classrooms reflect the Montessori philosophy and meet all MSDE standards.
Oversee safety, health, and record-keeping procedures.
Collaborate with administration on budgeting and program development.
Qualifications (per MSDE/OCC requirements):
MSDE Director Qualification required.
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field OR
90-hour Preschool Certification 45-hour Director/Admin Course 3 years of child care experience.CPR/First Aid, Basic Health & Safety, and 9-Hour Communication Course.
Must pass background check and medical clearance.
